Age alone does not tell you who owns the next action.
Aging balances become more useful when payer status, account history, last activity, responsibility and the next permitted action are visible together.
Historical scope must be defined in writing. Healthcode does not assume that every prior balance is included or guarantee recovery.
Turn an aging report into a working view.
An old account with a documented appeal in progress is different from an account with repeated notes and no change in status. The review begins with visibility, not assumptions.
What this starting point can clarify
- Whether accounts have recent activity.
- Whether payer responses and deadlines are documented.
- Whether every balance has a responsible owner and next action.
Human review remains essential
A person must define the date range, account types, exclusions, systems and appropriate next steps before Healthcode can define scope.
Start with general context—not account details.
Do not include PHI, patient names, dates of birth, medical records, account numbers, claim numbers or insurance information.
